Golf season doesn’t have to end when the Wisconsin weather turns cold. Wanaki Golf Course is keeping golfers swinging throughout the offseason with two indoor simulator league sessions this fall and winter.
The leagues will feature two-player teams competing in nine-hole rounds, with separate formats and schedules for the fall and winter seasons.
Fall Simulator League
The eight-week fall session runs October 26 through December 20 and will use a 2-player Stableford format.
The schedule includes two weeks of handicap establishment followed by six weeks of regular league play. There are no playoffs during the fall session.
The fall league has a $50 entry fee, with a $40 weekly fee.
Winter Simulator League
For golfers looking for a longer winter competition, Wanaki will offer a full 15-week winter session from January 4 through April 18.
The winter league switches to a 2-player stroke-play format and includes three weeks of handicap establishment, eight weeks of regular-season play and four weeks of playoffs.
The winter league costs $60 to enter and $60 per week. Wanaki notes that the higher winter rate reflects increased demand during the heart of Wisconsin’s offseason.
Registration Opens September 1
Registration for both simulator leagues begins September 1.
Wanaki’s indoor simulator facility gives area golfers an opportunity to keep their swings sharp, enjoy some friendly competition and stay connected to the game long after the outdoor season winds down.
